However, Africa has grown poorer in the past 25 years. According to UNDP, 25 of the world’s least developed countries are all in Africa. Africa is a continent with the largest number of people living on less than a dollar a day – 49% of the total population. One African in three is undernourished. Twenty-eight million Africans are now affected by HIV/AIDS, EBOLA, and 11 million children are orphaned in Africa as a result of HIV/AIDS and EBOLA. In many African countries, less than 50% of children complete primary school and only one in four poor rural girl attends primary school.

Africa also accounts for 90% of global deaths from malaria, and a woman in Africa is over 100 times more likely to die in pregnancy or childbirth than a woman in a developed country. Deaths as a result of poverty and preventable diseases in Africa amounted to the equivalent of the tsunami death toll every week. Life expectancy is lower in Africa than in any other continent. This is partly because of the lack of knowledge and their poor condition. It is the continent hit hardest by HIV/AIDS, EBOLA, with two-thirds of the world’s cases. Half the population lacks access to safe drinking water, and other health indicators are getting worse, not better.

FHTH supports and promotes private investment in the rural infrastructure; training in modern farming methods and techniques, such as irrigation and fertilizing fields; and assist those with entrepreneurial interest procure farming equipment, such as tractors, generators, etc. We are very much interested in Africans developing and maintaining economic structures with sustained growth potentials. We want to empower Africans to help themselves. We are confident these programs will help improve the quality of life and self-esteem of the African people. We need your continued financial and material support to be successful. Please reach out and help us save lives.
